How we spec it

Specified to the codes,
set out to the room.

A sports floor is not an off-the-shelf roll. We match Multiflex M to the codes you play, set it out joint-free to the room, then supply and install it as a Tarkett distributor. Tell us the venue and the sports, and we come back with the right floor.

Accredited & installed

One hall, three sports.
The floor takes every landing.

Run a full season of basketball, handball or squash on the wrong surface and the cost lands on knees, ankles and shins. A sports floor is not a finish detail. It is the equipment that protects everyone who plays on it, fixture after fixture, year after year.

Tarkett Multiflex M is a fully floating, semi-sprung multilayer timber system: a beech or oak wear layer over a sprung sub-structure, accredited FIBA Level 1 for basketball, WSF for squash and IHF for handball. It runs at a 39 mm low profile and lays joint-free to any size. As a Tarkett distributor we measure, supply and install it across QLD, NSW and VIC, backed by the 10-year Tarkett warranty. It is one part of the full Dance & Studio Equipment range. The offer still carries the Show Works name and is now supplied and installed by Theatre Safe Australia; Multiflex M is also listed on the Show Works sports flooring page.

The Multiflex M system

One system,
built in layers.

Multiflex M is a single floor specified four ways. The construction, the accreditations, the timber and the sustainability credentials are all part of the same system, and they are what you match to the venue, the codes you play and the project requirements.

The system, defined once: a fully floating, semi-sprung multilayer timber floor, accredited FIBA Level 1, WSF and IHF. It runs at a 39 mm low profile and lays joint-free to any size. Every floor carries the 10-year Tarkett warranty and is supplied and installed by TSA as a Tarkett distributor.

Construction · The system

Fully floating, semi-sprung.

A multilayer timber floor that floats on a sprung sub-structure rather than fixing rigid to the slab. That gives it controlled area-elastic give, so it takes the load off knees and ankles through a full season of play. It runs at a 39 mm low profile, which suits venues where build-up height is tight.

Accreditations · The codes

Three sports, one surface.

Multiflex M is accredited FIBA Level 1 for basketball, to the World Squash Federation for squash and to the International Handball Federation for handball. One floor specified against three international standards is what makes it a true multi-sport surface, not a single-code floor pressed into other uses.

Timber & finish · The wear layer

Beech or oak, lacquered.

The wear layer comes in beech or oak, pre-coated with Tarkett sports lacquer so the floor arrives ready to line-mark and play on. And because it lays joint-free to any size, a full-size hall or a multi-court complex reads as one continuous surface, with no construction joints to catch a ball, a foot or a cleaning machine.

Sustainability · The credentials

Cradle-to-cradle, AU content.

The system is cradle-to-cradle, 100 percent recyclable and 94 percent renewable, and it conforms to Australian-content requirements. That matters on government-funded projects, where the floor has to stand up to both the codes you play and the procurement rules you build under.

No. Multiflex M lays joint-free to any size, with no construction joints across the playing area. That removes the lines that catch a ball, a foot or a cleaning machine, and it lets a full-size hall or multi-court complex read as one continuous surface.
