01 - What We Do

Eight capabilities. One TSA.

Industry · Film & TV

For the floor that hits the cue at broadcast precision.

Sound stages, broadcast studios, LED volumes. The scenic move has to land on the cue and the floor has to turn around for the next production - so we engineer the motion, rig the grid, and hang FR-rated black drape to your schedule, not ours. Film and TV riggers run some of the hardest-working EXE Rise fleets in the country, we service studio hoisting for the ABC, and we develop camera track systems with the professionals who ride them.

The whole stage

From the grid to the gallery, one team has it.

A studio is a stack of rigging systems that all have to work to the cue - the grid overhead, the motion that drives a scenic move, the black drape that kills spill, and the certification behind them. Choose the stage that matches yours, then explore what we deliver across it.

Common in this sector

What studios call us about.

Different stage, same short list. These are the calls that turn into a quote inside the hour - and the reason we keep the report ready before you ask.

The scenic reveal has to track on the cue and land in the same spot every take. I need it engineered, not bodged.

Studio Technical Manager

We strike one production and build the next on the same floor in days. The rigging has to turn around with it.

Production Designer, TV series

I need a full black-drape and masking package for the floor, FR-rated, and I need it sized to the grid.

Key Grip, feature

Nobody can tell me what the grid is actually rated to carry, and we are flying a heavier rig than the last build.

Gaffer, broadcast studio

We have a short turnaround before the next shoot and a rigging list longer than the window.

How TSA helps

Everything your floor touches, from one team.

Most of what runs above and around your stage, we cover. Hover or tap any capability to see how it shows up on your floor - listed in the order most studios meet us.

Engagement model

How it usually goes, start to finish.

Most studio projects with TSA follow the same five-step shape. Mapped to your production schedule, not ours.

  1. Step 01

    Brief

    Production requirements brief.

  2. Step 02

    Engineer

    Bespoke engineering and rigging design.

  3. Step 03

    Deliver

Build, supply, install on the studio schedule.

  4. Step 04

    Operate

    Cue-cued operation during the shoot.

  5. Step 05

    Turnaround

Strike and turnaround for the next production.

Common questions

Questions studios ask us most.

Yes - per-production delivery is the core of how we work with studios. We strike, re-rig and re-certify to the build schedule you give us, not a calendar of ours. Tell us the turnaround window between productions and we scope the work to land inside it, with the grid signed off before the next floor goes up.

That is what our production engineering is built for. A tracking reveal, a flown set piece or a cue-driven scenic effect is designed, built and driven by motion control so it lands in the same spot, take after take. We engineer the mechanism to the cue sheet you actually have, load-test it, and operate it cue-cued during the shoot.

No. The Venue Systems Health Check is structured to work around your existing rig. We document the grid as found, flag anything that needs deeper review, and prioritise remediation against your production schedule. If teardown is required for any specific item, we'll book it separately.

Lifting and rigging work is delivered against AS 4991 and D8 Plus where applicable. Drape FR treatment is delivered against AS 1530. Electrical testing against AS/NZS 3760. Where a studio has insurer-specific requirements, we work to whichever standard is stricter.

That's the most common reason studio operators ring us. A staged programme - same audit format, same report structure, same recertification cycle across every stage - gives operations a single picture and a single budget line. We've done this for studio facilities and cultural infrastructure portfolios.
