Built to the designer's intent. Made to last.
TSA's in-house museum and gallery fit-out - fine joinery, cabinetry, plinths, showcases, sculpture and heritage recreation in timber, ply, acrylic, silicon and metal. Fabricated in the workshop, installed on site, to the exhibition designer's intent. For permanent and touring exhibitions.
Many trades.
One workshop.
This is a creative workshop, not a commodity fabricator. A fit-out draws carpenters, cabinetmakers, machinists, welders, sculptors and scenic finishers together under one roof, so the build and the finish are coordinated rather than handed between shops. Here is what goes into a gallery.
Fine joinery & cabinetry
Cabinetry, casework and architectural detail in timber and ply - made to the room, to the standard a curated space is read at.

Plinth work and showcases, with specialty construction in acrylic and silicon - conservation-grade and built to present the object, not compete with it.

Sculpture, metal and timber fabrication and specialist paint finishes on timber, metal and acrylic - built to read close up under gallery lighting.
See the buildHeritage recreation
Period interiors recreated to texture and surface - hard-plastered walls, worn floorboards, rusting iron and bluestone - not a clean reproduction.
See the buildWe fabricate the fit-out in the workshop and install it on site, to the exhibition designer's intent. It is the same workshop, trades and materials that build for the stage - see Sets, Scenery & Props. Not sure where your brief sits? and we will scope it with you.
A fit-out,
built to last.
Museum & Gallery Fit-out is TSA's in-house exhibition fabrication service - fine joinery, cabinetry, plinth work, showcases, sculpture and conservation-grade finishes, built by carpenters, machinists, welders, sculptors and finishers under one roof. The workshop fabricates the fit-out and installs it on site, to the exhibition designer's intent, with the drafting and engineering coordination behind it.
This is the same workshop that builds for the stage - a creative shop set up for high-scope, bespoke work, not commodity runs. Heritage recreation is a signature: for Little Lon at Melbourne Museum, two 1860s houses were recreated down to hard-plastered walls, creaking floorboards and bluestone paving - a build delivered under Show Works, now a TSA-owned brand. Part of the Sets, Scenery & Props group.
Four jobs, one fit-out.
A fit-out built to
the designer's intent.
A fit-out is a coordinated build, not a stack of parts. You get joinery, cabinetry, plinths, cases and finishes fabricated in-house, conservation-grade, and installed on site to the designer's intent - with the drafting and engineering coordination behind it.
Built for a gallery that opens every day.
Permanent fit-outs are designed to the realities of sustained public use: daily footfall, serviceable access and finishes that hold up. Conservation-grade, built to last past opening week.
We fabricate the fit-out and install it on site. It is the same workshop, trades and materials that build for the stage through Sets, Scenery & Props. Museum work only crosses into motorised movement or show control on the rare exhibit that needs it - otherwise it stays a fabrication and install job, end to end. Either way, you deal with one team.
Fit-outs that
hold the room.
From permanent gallery renewals to heritage recreation and touring exhibitions, the workshop builds to the designer's intent for some of Australia's leading cultural institutions.
